Forest Plan 2000

Below is the main section of the Terryland Forest Park Strategic Plan compiled by Parks Superintendent Stephen Walsh of Galway City Corporation and members of the multi-sectoral Terryland Forest Park steering committee in the summer of 2000 as a funding submission to Frank Fahy TD Minister for Forestry and the Marine. The report also contained details maps, drawings of future onsite developments, media clippings and brochures.

The park was then enjoying popular support as a result of the inaugural community tree planting that took place one Sunday in March of 2000 which attracted over 3,000 people.
Unfortunately, the submission was not successful in its objective of securing state monies for the project.
